Remote IT Support for Canadians — Mac & PC Help, Wherever You Are

Our certified technicians fix your computer remotely — same day, in plain English. We serve every province and territory in Canada. No travel required.

⭐ 4.7 / 5 — 540+ Google Reviews ✓ Mac & PC Specialists Since 2014 🇨🇦 All Provinces Covered 🔒 Secure AnyDesk Sessions

Professional Computer Help — No Tech Shop Required

Getting reliable IT support used to mean dropping your computer off at a shop and waiting days for a callback. Not anymore.

At Informatique Ste-Foy (ISF Tech), we have been solving computer problems for Canadians since 2014. Over the years, we built a reputation as one of Quebec City's most trusted Mac and PC repair shops — with more than 540 verified five-star Google reviews. But our expertise never needed to stop at the Quebec City city limits.

Today, through secure remote desktop sessions, we help clients from Victoria, BC to St. John's, NL — and everywhere in between. If your computer has an internet connection, we can connect to it, diagnose the problem, and fix it in real time. You watch every step on your own screen. Nothing happens without your permission.

Whether you are dealing with a slow MacBook that takes five minutes to boot, a Windows laptop hijacked by pop-up ads, a printer that refuses to talk to your network, or an email account that got hacked — our technicians handle it professionally, quickly, and in plain English.

No jargon. No upselling. No waiting for a callback that never comes. Just honest, competent computer support from a team that has been doing this for over a decade.

How it works in short: You call or text us, we schedule a session (often same day), you give temporary access through AnyDesk or Quick Support, and we fix the problem while you watch. Session typically lasts 30–90 minutes depending on the issue.

Remote IT Services We Offer Across Canada

Hacked email, locked Apple ID, compromised Microsoft account, suspicious login activity — we help you regain control, secure your accounts, set up two-factor authentication, and make sure it does not happen again.

Mac Remote Support — Apple Specialists Since 2014

Apple computers are exceptional machines, but they come with their own set of quirks and failure modes — and finding a technician who truly understands Apple Silicon, macOS, and the Apple ecosystem is harder than it should be.

  • macOS slowness, spinning beachball, and high CPU usage

  • Apple ID locked, two-factor authentication problems
  • Time Machine backup configuration and recovery
  • Migration Assistant — moving from old Mac to new Mac

  • Safari, Chrome, and Firefox configuration and cleanup
  • Continuity Camera, AirDrop, and Handoff connectivity issues
  • Font, permission, and disk repair with Disk Utility

For hardware repairs (screen replacement, battery, keyboard, logic board), your Mac will need to come to our workshop. We accept mail-in repairs from anywhere in Canada — pack it safely, ship it to us in Sainte-Foy, and we'll ship it back repaired with a 90-day warranty.

Windows PC Support — Every Version, Every Brand

Windows computers power the majority of Canadian households and small businesses — and they come with the widest variety of problems, from simple driver conflicts to full ransomware encryption. Our technicians are experienced with Windows 7 through Windows 11 and handle issues that most home users find overwhelming.

Common Windows problems we resolve remotely include:

  • Windows Update stuck, failed, or causing crashes after installation
  • Blue screen of death (BSOD) — we read the crash dump and find the cause
  • Computer locked by ransomware or a fake "Microsoft Support" scam
  • Startup programs making your PC take 10+ minutes to become usable
  • Driver conflicts after Windows updates — graphics, audio, Wi-Fi problems
  • Windows activation issues — "Windows is not genuine" messages
  • OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox sync conflicts eating up disk space
  • Registry errors, missing DLL files, broken system file warnings
  • Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrade — compatibility check and clean install
  • BitLocker recovery key issues and encrypted drive access
  • Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) setup for working from home
  • Group Policy and corporate IT environment troubleshooting

When Windows problems go beyond what software can fix — like a failing hard drive, overheating CPU, or damaged motherboard — we help you understand your options and, if needed, walk you through sending the device to our workshop for physical repair.

How Remote IT Support Works — Step by Step

Getting remote help is easier than most people expect. Here is exactly what happens from start to finish.

1

Contact Us — Call, Text, or Fill the Form

Reach us by calling (418) 255-8998, sending a text message to the same number, or using our online contact form. Briefly describe what is happening with your computer. No technical knowledge required — just tell us in plain language what is wrong.

2

We Schedule Your Session

We find a time that works for you — often the same day or next day. Sessions typically last 30 to 90 minutes depending on the complexity of the problem. We are available Monday through Saturday and handle urgent cases as priority.

3

Download AnyDesk — Takes 60 Seconds

We send you a link to download AnyDesk, a secure and trusted remote desktop application used by IT professionals worldwide. It requires no installation — just download, run, and share your 9-digit access code with us. You stay in full control and can end the session at any moment.

4

We Diagnose and Fix in Real Time

You watch everything on your screen as our technician works. We explain what we find and what we are doing at each step. No hidden actions. If we discover the issue requires physical hardware repair, we tell you honestly instead of wasting your time and money on a session that cannot solve it.

5

We Verify, You Confirm, and We Close

Before ending the session, we test the fix thoroughly — restart the computer if needed, confirm the problem is gone, and walk you through what was done and how to avoid the same issue in the future. Payment is collected by credit card at the end of the session.

Serving All Canadian Provinces and Territories

Remote IT support works anywhere your internet works — which means we can help you whether you are in a downtown Toronto condo or a rural community in New Brunswick.

Canadians from coast to coast deserve access to quality IT support without having to live near a major city. A family in Kamloops, BC dealing with a ransomware attack should not have fewer options than someone in Vancouver. A retired couple in Sydney, Nova Scotia with a printer that stopped working deserves the same level of help as a client in Halifax. That is the gap we fill.

We have helped clients in all of the following provinces and territories, and we are ready to help in yours:

British ColumbiaVancouver · Victoria · Surrey · Burnaby · Kelowna · Kamloops · Abbotsford

The only requirement is a stable internet connection — DSL, cable, or LTE. Even a basic residential connection is sufficient for a remote support session. If your connection is too slow for live remote access, we can guide you through fixes over the phone instead.

Note for Quebec clients: We also offer bilingual support for Quebec residents who prefer service in French. Our team is equally fluent in both languages — just let us know your preference when you contact us.

Why Canadians Choose ISF Tech for Remote Support

There is no shortage of IT support options online. Here is what sets us apart.

Over 540 Verified Google Reviews — 4.7 / 5

Our reputation was built in a physical shop where clients could see our work firsthand. Every one of our 540+ reviews was left by a real client. That trust does not disappear when we move to remote support — it transfers. We bring the same discipline, transparency, and accountability to every remote session.

💰

Honest, Flat-Rate Pricing — No Hidden Fees

We quote a flat rate for remote sessions based on the type of problem. You know the price before we start. If the issue turns out to be more complex than estimated, we discuss it with you before doing any additional work. We never rack up hours on easy problems.

🛡️

We Never Ask for Passwords or Payment Information

A legitimate technician never needs your email password, banking password, or credit card details during a remote session. We do what we need to do through your operating system — and we explain every step. If any IT provider asks for sensitive credentials during a session, end it immediately.

🎯

We Fix It Once — Not Over Multiple Sessions

Some remote support providers drag out billing by "discovering" new problems each session. Our goal is to resolve your issue completely in a single session. We diagnose the root cause, not just the symptom — so the problem does not return next week.

📞

Real Person Answers — No Ticket Queue

When you call (418) 255-8998 or send a text, a real technician responds — not a chatbot, not a call centre in another country, not a ticket system that takes 48 hours to acknowledge your request. We are a small, skilled team that values direct communication.

🔒

Hardware Backup When Remote Support Is Not Enough

Some problems genuinely require physical repair — a cracked screen, a dead battery, a damaged SSD. When that is the case, we tell you clearly. We accept mail-in repairs from anywhere in Canada at our workshop in Sainte-Foy, Quebec. No guessing, no wasted sessions.

Remote Support Pricing

Transparent rates. No surprise invoices.

We charge a flat rate per session based on the category of problem. Payment is collected by credit card at the end of a successful session.

$75 – $95
Basic Session
Virus removal, slow computer tune-up, printer setup, basic software issues — problems that can be resolved in under 60 minutes.
$120 – $160
Advanced Session
OS reinstall, ransomware recovery, complex network setup, account recovery, multi-problem sessions — typically 60–120 minutes.

No fix, no fee. If we connect to your computer and determine we cannot fix the issue remotely (hardware failure, no internet access on the problem device), you pay nothing. We tell you honestly and recommend the next best option.

For small businesses needing recurring IT support, contact us for monthly package pricing — we work with many small Canadian businesses on a pay-as-needed or priority-access basis.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your session.

Is it safe to let someone access my computer remotely?
When done properly, yes. We use AnyDesk, a professional remote access tool with 256-bit TLS encryption — the same standard used in online banking. You share a one-time access code that expires as soon as the session ends. You can see everything the technician does in real time and disconnect instantly by pressing the red disconnect button. We never retain access to your computer between sessions.
What internet speed do I need for a remote session?
A basic residential connection — even 5 Mbps download — is sufficient for a comfortable remote session. We have worked successfully with clients on rural DSL connections and LTE hotspots. The session may be slightly slower on very weak connections, but it remains functional in most cases.
Can you help if my computer cannot connect to the internet?
If your computer has no internet access at all, we cannot connect to it remotely. However, we can often walk you through basic diagnostic steps over the phone to determine whether the problem is with the computer itself or your router/ISP. For no-power and no-boot issues, our mail-in repair service is the right solution.
Do you offer support in French as well?
Yes. Our team is fully bilingual — English and French. Clients in Quebec or New Brunswick who prefer to communicate in French are welcome to do so. We serve the Canadian anglophone community as our primary focus for this service, but we are happy to accommodate French speakers too.
How do I pay for the remote session?
Payment is collected by credit card at the end of a successful session. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. For businesses, we can issue an invoice. We do not charge anything upfront — you only pay when the problem is resolved to your satisfaction.
What if the problem comes back after the session?
All remote support sessions include a 48-hour free follow-up. If the same issue returns within 48 hours of your session, we reconnect at no additional charge. We stand behind our work. If the problem is caused by a new, unrelated event, that would be treated as a new session.
Can you help with problems on a work computer or corporate laptop?
It depends on your organization's IT policies. Many corporate devices have remote access tools locked down by the IT department. If your company's IT team has already ruled something out or if your laptop is managed by MDM (Mobile Device Management), we may have limited access. That said, we can often still help with software, browser, and email issues — contact us to discuss your specific situation.
I think I was scammed by a fake tech support call. Can you help?
Yes, and this is urgent — call or text us immediately at (418) 255-8998. Tech support scams are one of the most common cybercrime categories in Canada. If a scammer had access to your computer, your passwords, browser history, and possibly your online accounts may be compromised. We will audit your system, remove any tools the scammer installed, change credentials, and check your accounts for suspicious activity.
What if my computer issue requires physical repair?
We will tell you honestly at the start of the session. Hardware failures — broken screens, dead batteries, liquid damage, failed storage drives — cannot be fixed remotely. For these cases, we offer a mail-in repair service from anywhere in Canada. Ship your device to our workshop at 979 avenue de Bourgogne, Sainte-Foy, QC G1W 2L4. We diagnose, repair, and return it with a 90-day warranty on parts and labour.
Are your technicians certified?
Our team includes Apple-certified technicians and CompTIA A+ certified professionals. Beyond certifications, our experience speaks for itself — over 12 years of daily repairs on Mac and PC hardware, thousands of satisfied clients, and a 4.7-star rating across 540+ independent Google reviews.
